HELP US WELCOME OUR NEWEST OFFICER, K9 OLIVER, TO THE PAULLINA POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!
K9 Oliver (Olly) is a single purpose certified narcotic detection K9 certified through the USPCA (United States Police Canine Association). K9 Oliver is also trained in article recovery and tracking.
K9 Oliver’s job is locating illegal substances within vehicles and buildings. He is trained to alert to the odor of Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine, and Methamphetamines. K9 Oliver is also capable of locating articles thrown by a suspect, and locating suspects and missing persons that have taken off on foot.
K9 Oliver was born and raised in Iowa and attended narcotics training at Midwest K9 in Des Moines.

– He comes from a line of working dogs. K9 Oliver’s father is a dual-purpose K9, certified in Patrol Work and Narcotics Detection. He presently works for another law enforcement agency in Iowa.
– One of K9 Oliver’s brothers is also a single-purpose narcotics detection K9, who works for another law enforcement agency in Iowa.
– K9 Oliver also works with his handler at the Sutherland Police Department.
– When K9 Oliver is not working, he resides at his handler’s home.
– K9 Oliver’s favorite toys are tugs and balls.
