Paullina is home to a very active Chamber of Commerce that supports local & area business members, helps build for the future of the City & strengthens community spirit.

In addition to offering annual scholarships to South O’Brien High School seniors and families who attend Zion-St. John Lutheran School, the Paullina Chamber serves to provide a number of social events & gatherings. This not only unites residents of Paullina, but also draws in people from the surrounding South O’Brien communities as well as neighboring towns.

The Chamber organizes & hosts four main annual events in Paullina — one for each season!

SUMMER

While the Chamber is probably best known as the source of funding for the annual fireworks at Paullina Lake for the Gemboree the last Saturday night in June, it does much more! The Gemboree small-town summer celebration includes a parade up Main Street & a party in the park with inflatables & games for kids, with food trucks & entertainment ranging from the fire department barbecue cook-off to cornhole, live music, beer garden, golf tournament, & much more. Save the date for next summer’s GEMBOREE June 28-29, 2024!

FALL

Calling all pumpkin spice lovers! Given the popularity of our fall events that have grown & expanded into two distinct weekend events — we now offer a Fall Vendor/Craft Fair & then the Fall Festival that includes our very popular Trunk or Treat downtown on the last Saturday of October! Shop til you drop for those extra-unique holiday gifts before the busy rush by visiting our expanded vendor/craft fair October 21, 2023. Then get your costumes created & plan to trunk or treat for candy right downtown. Lots of fun fall-themed activities, food & decor to make the most of this harvest holiday season!

WINTER

Cue the Hallmark movie-esque scenery because Paullina brings you Hometown Christmas the first Saturday of December. This beloved event includes visits with Santa & Mrs. Claus, fire department chili feed, special movies at our historic Wonderland Theater, plus winter games & crafts. We also bring to life special scenes in the windows of our downtown properties called Living Windows! Cider & cocoa with cookies, caroling, horse-drawn sleigh rides, we’ve got all the elements of a Christmas classic! And our Festival of Trees has morphed into something very special you won’t want to miss!

SPRING

Along with an awesome Easter egg hunt for the kids, we’ve added a few new fun twists to the Easter Hoppening event such as a petting zoo, fire truck rides, & more. We’re egg-cited to be planning for 2024 already!

As if these annual seasonal events weren’t fun enough, the Chamber also holds special meal events such as pancakes, omelets, burgers/brats/dogs, etc. We’ve hosted bingo and puzzle nights too. And when our downtown bar & grills weren’t open for Monday lunch, we brought in Food Truck Mondays to offer an added option during the summer. Our pocket park & gazebo greenspace become a very popular place on these special summer sessions.
